Transparency about how we test, who we are, and why you can trust recommendations on Freelance Dhaka.

## Our mission
Freelance Dhaka exists to help Bangladeshi freelancers in Bangladesh make informed decisions about international payment methods, freelance platforms, VPNs, and remote work tools. Every guide answers one question: **will this actually work for me in Bangladesh?**
## How we test products
Every product we recommend is personally tested by our team for a minimum of **30 days** from Bangladesh. Our testing methodology includes:
- **Real-world usage** — we set up accounts, complete transactions, and measure outcomes ourselves
- **Multi-device testing** — desktop, mobile (Android + iOS), and multiple browsers
- **Local conditions** — tested on Bangladesh's actual ISP connections and network conditions
- **Payment verification** — for payment tools, we process real transfers and document fees
- **Customer support testing** — we contact support on weekdays and weekends, measure response times
Our reviewers document their testing with screenshots, transfer receipts, and speed tests. No product is recommended based on press releases or affiliate manager suggestions alone.
## Our rating system
We rate products on five criteria, each 1-5 stars:
1. **Speed** — transaction time, page load speed, or task completion time
2. **Value** — price vs alternatives, hidden fees, long-term cost
3. **Features** — what you can actually do, completeness vs competitors
4. **Support** — response time, quality, language options
5. **Bangladesh compatibility** — does it actually work with local banks, payment systems, regulations
The final star rating is a weighted average, with Bangladesh compatibility weighted 30% (versus 15-20% for generic review sites).
## Editorial independence
**No sponsor, affiliate partner, or advertiser can buy a favorable rating.** Our affiliate relationships (disclosed on every page with affiliate links) fund our testing and operations but never influence our rankings. We have refused rating changes requested by brands with active affiliate partnerships, and we have ranked competing products above our affiliates when they genuinely deserve it.
We follow these rules without exception:
- **No paid reviews.** We do not accept money in exchange for positive coverage.
- **No guaranteed rankings.** Affiliate status does not determine rank order.
- **No deleted criticism.** If we identify flaws, we publish them even in products we earn commission from.
- **No competitor reviews for payment.** We decline paid coverage of competitors that would create conflicts of interest.
## Fact-checking process
Before publication, every article passes through:
1. **Author research** — minimum 3 authoritative sources per claim, documented
2. **Editorial review** — second pair of eyes verifies claims against linked sources
3. **Test verification** — claims about products verified against our own testing records
4. **Legal review** — for articles touching tax, banking, or regulatory topics
Articles on critical topics (tax, banking regulations, legal) include a **"Last verified by [editor] on [date]"** notice.
## Update frequency
- **Cornerstone guides** (payment corridors, platform reviews): updated every 90 days minimum
- **Product reviews:** updated when providers change pricing, features, or availability in Bangladesh
- **Rankings:** refreshed quarterly, or immediately when market conditions shift
- **Fact corrections:** published within 48 hours of verification

## Our affiliate disclosure
Freelance Dhaka participates in affiliate programs. When you click a link marked `/go/` and make a qualifying action, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These programs include (but are not limited to):

**We only promote products we personally use or have tested.** We never promote products we consider low quality, even at high commission rates.
## Corrections and feedback
We aim for 100% accuracy, but mistakes happen. If you find factual errors, email **[email protected]** with "Correction" in the subject. Verified errors are corrected within 48 hours and documented in article metadata (dateModified in schema).
